I had the privilege of caring for Christine first in the hospital and later again in the care home, and in that time she became much more than someone I simply looked after — she became someone I truly cared about. She was the sweetest soul, always kind and grateful for even the smallest things. No matter what kind of day she was having, she still found a way to make others smile with her gentle humour.
Christine loved her tea and chocolates, and I’ll always remember how her face would light up at the mention of them. But what stood out the most wasn’t just her sweetness — it was the love that surrounded her. Her daughter was by her side through everything, showing up with so much care, not only for her mother but for the other residents too. Their bond was beautiful to see, a real reminder of what love and devotion look like.
Caring for Christine was never just part of my job — it was an honour. She taught me about kindness, gratitude, and how even the smallest gestures can mean everything. I will always carry her memory with me, and I feel blessed to have known her. Rest peacefully, Christine. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
